Newkirk (knee) has progressed to doing running and conditioning, but still has no timetable for return, Jon Rothstein of CBS reports.

Newkirk suffered an ACL injury during a game against George Washington in December, and is still recovering. It's promising that he's begun to get conditioned but that doesn't mean he's anywhere near being full strength. There will likely be more updates on Newkirk's status before the beginning of the season.

St. Joseph's coach Phil Martelli said that Newkirk (knee) has resumed light running and some basketball workouts, but remains without a timetable for full clearance, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Newkirk is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last December in a game against George Washington, and though it sounds like he's making progress, he could still be limited when the Hawks resume practicing in the fall. Once he reclaims full health, Newkirk will likely reemerge as a focal point of the St. Joseph's offense after averaging 20.3 points and 1.6 three-pointers per game last season prior to going down with the injury.

Newkirk (knee) was diagnosed Sunday with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

After the knee injury forced him out during Friday's tilt with George Washington, Newkirk underwent an MRI on Saturday, which revealed ligament damage. The loss of Newkirk is a crippling one for the Hawks, as he was leading the team with 20.3 points per game. Chris Clover is expected to benefit the most from Newkirk's absence, but the Hawks will also ask Lamarr Kimble and Charlie Brown to take on an even greater role in the team's offensive attack.

Newkirk (knee) will undergo an MRI on Saturday, Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports reports.

Newkirk suffered a knee injury in Friday's game against George Washington, and it is apparently severe enough to require further testing. More information on Newkirk's timeline will be made available after the results of the MRI come across, but if he has to miss significant time, it'd be a major loss for the Hawks as Newkirk is far and away the team's top scorer, averaging 20.3 points per game.

Newkirk suffered a left knee injury during Friday's game against George Washington, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

The severity of the injury remains unclear, but Newkirk still managed to put up 10 points in the first half before his premature exit. If Newkirk is forced to miss extended time, sophomore Chris Clover could find his way into unexpected minutes.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Newkirk had a team-high 21 points (5-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), seven rebounds, and four assists in a losing effort against Illinois State on Sunday.

The 6-1 junior has had a breakout year as he is averaging 20.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 35.6 minutes per game. Newkirk has also been very aggressive as he is averaging 7.5 free-throw attempts per contest. It looks like the Hawks are going to get as far as Newkirk is able to carry them.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Newkirk led the Hawks with 19 points, eight rebounds, and four steals in the win over Princeton on Wednesday. He was 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

The 6-1 junior is scoring a team-high 20.9 points and has scored at least 19 points in all but two games. He is particularly good when attacking the basket and is making 81.3 percent of his freebies. Newkirk is just 1-of-9 on 3-pointers in his last two games.
