Lynch underwent minor knee surgery and will be out three weeks, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

Fortunately for Lynch, it looks like he'll be 100 percent healthy for the start of the regular season. Lynch was a defensive force last season, averaging a Big Ten-leading 3.5 blocks per game en route to being the league's Defensive Player of the Year.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch dominated in the paint with 11 blocks to go with nine points and three rebounds in the win over Penn State on Saturday.

While Lynch's offensive output of late may be disappointing, the Illinois State transfer has been defending the goal. Over his last six games, the senior has averaged 5.8 points and 4.5 blocks. The Golden Gophers have won seven straight games, so Lynch should get a first chance to go dancing in March.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out of Saturday's loss to Maryland. He added five blocks in the contest.

Foul trouble once again marred what could have been another excellent game for the Illinois State transfer. He fouled out for the fourth time in his last six games, but fortunately he was able to notch his second double-double of the year before leaving the game. Lynch continues to be a low-volume, high efficiency scorer that is a constant presence on the boards and a threat to rack up multiple blocks each time out.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch double-doubled with 18 points (5-9 FG, 8-10 FT), 11 rebounds, three blocks and one assist in 28 minutes during Minnesota's win over Northern Illinois on Sunday.

Lynch had a massive game Monday, and was able to overcome previous free-throw struggles to prove he's a threat inside, whether he's fouled or not. The senior center is averaging 9.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks in 22.0 minutes per game. This was his first double-double of the season. His next chance to produce will be against LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch (ankle) scored seven points (2-6 FG, 3-6 FT) and pulled down four rebounds in 15 minutes Monday against Florida State.

The veteran center returned to action Monday after missing the game against Southern Illinois due to an ankle injury. According to Marcus Fuller of the Star Tribune, Lynch's ankle has improved throughout the week and he'll be a full go for Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.

November 28, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch (ankle) will draw the start at center in Monday's game against Florida State, Marcus Fuller of the Star Tribune reports.

Lynch missed Friday's game with an ankle injury, but has been cleared for a return to the court and will move back into the starting five. So far this season, Lynch has recorded averages of 9.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 3.6 blocks per game, so while his scoring numbers aren't spectacular, he's still a great source for rebounds and blocks as a rim protector.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Minnesota coach Richard Pitino confirmed Monday that Lynch (knee) has been cleared for all activities, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Lynch didn't play in 2015-16 after transferring over from Illinois State, and was limited earlier in the offseason after requiring knee surgery in September. The 6-foot-10 big man is expected to compete for a spot in the Gophers' frontcourt rotation this season, but he doesn't profile as a high-end fantasy option.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lynch has resumed non-contact work in practice, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Lynch has an extensive injury history that includes knee and shoulder ailments, but if he can get healthy, the 6-10 junior could compete for minutes in the Minnesota frontcourt this season.
