Giguere (hamstring) was moved to the six-game injured list Thursday, Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette reports.

Giguere appeared set to make his season debut this week, but it appears he is not yet ready to play, and with him already spending a few weeks on the one-game injured list, the Alouettes simply transferred him to the longer option. It remains to be seen when Giguere will now be ready to take the field for the first time this season.

Giguere caught five passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's win over the Tiger-Cats.

It was his best performance of the season, as he saved the best for last. Giguere remained a secondary receiving option for the Als in 2016 and that's not likely to change next year, although his final-week flurry did allow him to set a new career high in TDs with five.

Giguere managed 64 yards and a touchdown on three receptions in Monday's 40-20 loss to the Eskimos.

The veteran national posted a season-high yardage total while hauling in a score for the second straight game. Giguere paced the Als in receiving as well and is now just one touchdown away from equaling his career-high total of four, which he managed last season in his first season in Montreal. Although Duron Carter is clearly the highest-upside pass catcher on the roster, Giguere's steady presence serves as a dependable target for Rakeem Cato, and he should therefore continue to see his fair share of opportunities for the balance of the campaign.
