RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson totaled 66 yards on five receptions in Friday's 23-21 loss to the Eskimos.

The veteran receiver narrowly missed notching his second touchdown of the season when, upon review, he came up just short of the goal line on a 34-yard reception in the second quarter. It was still a solid outing for Ellingson, who has posted no less than Friday's five receptions and 66 yards in any game this season. He's arguably quarterback Trevor Harris' top target at the moment, and given the Redblacks' prolific air attack, that renders Ellingson a highly viable DFS option week-to-week. He'll look to bounce back and help Ottawa secure its first victory against the Als in Week 5.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson managed 170 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions in Saturday's 26-25 loss to the Argonauts.

Ellingson seems to have seized the playmaker role that both Chris Williams and Ernest Jackson so aptly filled for Ottawa last season, with Saturday's game marking his second straight 100-yard effort. The FIU product has already amassed 25 receptions and 369 yards over the first three weeks of the campaign, and his 29-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, his first of the season, would have led to a tie had there not been a bobbled extra-point snap. The 28-year-old looks like one of the top fantasy assets at the receiver position and could be in for another robust stat line when the Redblacks tangle with the Eskimos in Week 4.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson totaled 133 yards on seven receptions in Thursday's 43-39 loss to the Stampeders.

As impressive as the FIU product's final line was, his night would have been considerably more spectacular had a first-quarter 80-yard touchdown not been erased by penalty. Ellingson still managed to lead all receivers in yardage on the night while tying teammate Brad Sinopoli for most receptions. The 28-year-old was expected to be one of the primary beneficiaries of the departures of Chris Williams and Ernest Jackson this past offseason, and the first two weeks of the season have validated that assumption; factoring in Thursday's production, Ellingson has already racked up 15 receptions for 199 yards in his first two contests. He'll look to put together a similarly productive day when Ottawa takes on Toronto in Week 3.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson lined up as a starting slotback in Monday's practice, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Ellingson's standing on the depth chart is hardly a surprise given that he led the Redblacks in receiving yardage a year ago, but this report confirms he is healthy and ready to go for the Redblacks' season opener Friday against the Stampeders.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson signed a two-year deal with the Redblacks on Friday, Gary Lawless of TSN Radio 1290 reports.

In 2016, Ellingson caught 76 passes for 1260 yards and four touchdowns, with an average of 16.6 yards per catch. While he's overshadowed by Ernest Jackson and Chris Williams, Ellingson will be an important piece of the Redblacks' offense in 2017.

November 28, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson totaled 85 yards on seven catches in Sunday's 39-33 overtime Grey Cup victory over the Stamps.

Ellingson was one of several pass catchers to benefit from Henry Burris' jaw-dropping 461 yard-performance, posting the most receptions on the Redblacks. Although not as spectacular as fellow wideouts Ernest Jackson and Chris Williams, Ellingson will enter 2017 as an important part of the Redblacks' title defense.

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson posted a 26-yard touchdown on his only reception in Sunday's 35-23 Eastern Finals victory over the Eskimos.

The FIU product made his only catch count, hauling in the 26-yard scoring dart from Henry Burris in the first quarter to give the Redblacks an early 9-0 lead. Despite a light stat line Sunday, Ellingson figures to have a solid role in next week's Grey Cup showdown with the Stamps, given the 76-catch, 1,260-yard season he put together in 2016.

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson will start at slotback in Sunday's Eastern Final matchup with the Eskimos.

Ellingson was held out of the Redblacks' regular season finale in order to rest, but he will return to action Sunday as Ottawa looks to earn a spot in next week's Grey Cup.

November 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson is not on the depth chart for Friday's game against the Blue Bombers.

Ellingson and several fellow starting Redblacks will be held out Friday with the team looking to give some players some rest in advance of the postseason. All three of the Redblacks' top slotbacks will sit out Friday, and the trio of Khalil Paden, Jake Harty, and John Harris will start in their place.

October 30, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught five passes for 85 yards in Saturday's win over the Blue Bombers.

He's now topped 50 receiving yards in an impressive seven straight games as Ellingson continues to set new career highs in catches and yards. He'll get one more chance to pad those totals Friday at home in a rematch against Winnipeg.

October 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson managed 75 yards on five receptions in Friday's 39-36 overtime loss to the Ti-Cats.

The 27-year-old had a solid outing while serving as the Redblacks' second-leading receiver in receptions and yardage on the night. Ellingson has been of the steadiest receivers in the CFL this season and has at least four catches and 56 yards in six straight games. He's also set career bests in receptions (70) and yardage (1178) in 2016.

October 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught six passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's overtime loss to the Roughriders.

He only has four TDs on the season, but three of them have come in the last four games. Otherwise, Ellingson is more than matching last season's breakout performance, hauling in 61 catches for 1045 yards with four games to go on the schedule.

September 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught six passes for 60 yards in Friday's win over the Argos.

He took a back seat to Brad Sinopoli in this one, but Ellingson's 892 receiving yards on the season already has him well on pace to top the career-high 1061 yards he hauled in last year.

September 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson notched 82 yards and a touchdown on four receptions in Saturday's 48-23 loss to the Stamps.

The FIU product scored his first touchdown since Week 2 versus the Als, one of the few bright spots in a lopsided loss. Ellingson has 15 receptions for 345 yards and Saturday's score in the last three games he's been active for. The 27-year-old is on pace to exceed the career-high 1,061 yards receiving he totaled last season, despite having missed two games so far in 2016.

August 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught five passes for 142 yards in Thursday's loss to the Lions.

It was his fourth game this season with 100 or more receiving yards, and Ellingson now sits fourth in the CFL with 750 yards behind teammate Chris Williams and the Edmonton duo of Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker. Remarkably, Ellingson has only one TD on the year as Williams has dominated the end zone looks with eight scores, but those totals should begin to balance themselves out in the season's second half.

August 7, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson totaled 121 yards on six receptions in Saturday's 23-20 victory over the Eskimos.

The 27-year-old receiver turned in a stellar performance, particularly shining in a second-quarter drive where he hauled in passes of 41 and 22 yards. Ellingson has impressively put together three games with at least 100 yards receiving to date in 2016, and 96 yards in another. While he only has one touchdown on the season, he's on pace for his best yardage season by far with a total of 608 over the first seven games, as he continues to benefit from the defensive attention on teammate Chris Williams.

July 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught nine passes for 218 yards in Wednesday's win over the Argos.

Toronto's secondary sold out their coverage to try and contain Chris Williams, but as a result it was Ellingson who torched them instead. The fourth-year CFL player now has 439 receiving yards through four games and seems ready to blow past last season's career high of 1061.

July 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson caught nine passes for 101 yards in Friday;s 26-26 tie with the Stampeders.

That's now back-to-back good games for Ellingson, as opposition secondaries have their hands full trying (and failing) to contain Chris Williams. As long as Williams remains on his record-setting pace, Ellingson should continue to get plenty of open looks for Ottawa.

June 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ellingson amassed 96 yards on five receptions in Saturday's 45-37 overtime victory over the Eskimos. He also hauled in a two-point conversion in the extra period.

The 27-year-old was one of several wideouts to enjoy productive days on an afternoon in which the Redblacks amassed a combined 543 yards through the air. Ellingson put together his first 1,000 yard-campaign in 2015, and his effort Saturday was certainly a nice foundation for an encore of that performance. The FIU product should see a nice chunk of targets in what figures to be a diverse and wide-open Ottawa passing attack.
