Clarke announced that he would transfer to Gonzaga.

Clarke will have to sit out for the 2017-18 season, but should be eligible in a year to join the Zags. The 6-8 forward should succeed Johnathan Williams in the Gonzaga frontcourt and will have two years of eligibility remaining. He won't have carte blanche like he did at San Jose State, but should be a major contributor to the Bulldogs.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

San Jose State has granted Clarke permission to meet with other programs in pursuit of a transfer, Jon Rothstein of FanRagSports.com reports.

The seemingly imminent departure of Clarke would be a tough loss to swallow for San Jose State after the 6-foot-8 forward led the team in points (17.3), rebounds (8.7), blocks (2.5) and assists (2.3) per game in 2016-17 as a sophomore, earning first-team, all-conference honors in the Mountain West. If Clarke does indeed land elsewhere, he'll have to sit out the 2017-18 campaign, but would have two more seasons of eligibility remaining. Several teams around the country should be in the bidding for Clarke's services, but if he lands at a high-major program, he likely won't have the opportunity to post the kind of overwhelming statistics he regularly provided at San Jose State.

Clark scored 23 points (9-16 FG, 5-7 FT) with 15 rebounds and five blocks in the win over UNLV on Saturday.

The 6-8 sophomore has been one of the few reasons to watch the Spartans this season. Over his last six games, he has averaged 23.8 points on 66.0 percent from the field. Clarke has six games of five blocks or more. San Jose State earned just its third win in nine games in the Mountain West.
