Myers announced Wednesday that he would leave Maine and join South Carolina as a graduate transfer for the 2017-18 season, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

Following their run to the Final Four last spring, the Gamecocks watched all three of their backcourt starters -- Sindarius Thornwell, PJ Dozier and Duane Notice -- move on to the pro ranks, so the addition of Myers will help address the offensive void left at guard by those departures. After playing at Niagara for the first two seasons of his career, Myers emerged as a go-to option in his lone year with Maine, churning out 16.9 points, 4.5 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 30.1 minutes per game. Since he'll be making the jump to a major program in the competitive Southeastern Conference, Myers will be hard pressed to replicate his numbers with the Gamecocks, but he should at least receive the opportunity to challenge for a starting role.
