RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shiltz completed seven of 16 passes for 96 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in Friday's 33-0 season-ending loss to the Tiger-Cats. He also rushed four times for 20 yards.

Shiltz drew the start but couldn't come close to any meaningful production, throwing three picks before being pulled in favor of Antonio Pipkin. The 24-year-old had been effective in his first two appearances of the season in Weeks 15 and 18, completing 23 of 32 passes for 242 yards in those contests. However, he struggled versus the Roughriders in Week 19 before Friday's forgettable performance, casting some doubt as to whether he might be the Alouettes' long-term answer at quarterback.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shiltz will get the nod for Friday's game against the Tiger-Cats.

Bill Beacon of The Canadian Press reported that Shiltz will make his first career CFL start while Darian Durant remains doubtful to play with a knee injury. Shiltz came in for Durant during Friday's loss to Saskatchewan, completing five of his 13 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Although he's in line for a majority of the snaps, the team also wants to give Antonio Pipkin an opportunity to show off his abilities during Montreal's final game of the 2017 season.

Shiltz replaced Darian Durant (knee) midway through Friday's loss to the Roughriders, completing five of 13 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown while adding two carries for 13 yards.

It wasn't a particularly impressive stat line, but the rookie did throw his first CFL touchdown pass to Samuel Giguere. If Durant's knee injury costs him the final game of the season, Shiltz would be in line for his first start next Friday in Hamilton.

Shiltz replaced Darian Durant to start the second half and completed 15 of 22 passes for 167 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 43-16 loss to the Tiger-Cats. He also rushed four times for 30 yards.

The 24-year-old was making only his second appearances of the season, with his prior game action having come against the Stampeders in Week 15. Shiltz displayed some solid rapport with the likes of Eugene Lewis, Ernest Jackson and B.J. Cunningham and could draw the start in Week 19 against the Roughriders, considering the Alouettes having nothing to lose by seeing what they have in the rookie.

Shiltz will spend his third straight week on the Alouettes' injured list. When he is ready to return to action, he will have another quarterback to compete with following Montreal's signing of Antonio Pipkin.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shiltz (undisclosed) remains on the injured list for Week 2.

Shiltz is not ready for game action, and when he is, he will presumably be the Alouettes' fifth option at the quarterback position following the signing of Drew Willy.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shiltz was placed on the one-game injured list Wednesday, Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette reports.

It's not clear what type of injury Shiltz is dealing with, but it will prevent him from suiting up for Week 1. He was unlikely to play anyway, as he heads into the regular season fourth on the depth chart at the quarterback position.
